Digital Organizer

New Hampshire Youth Movement is looking for a Digital Organizer to support the growth of New Hampshire Youth Movement’s youth/student membership both online and offline. Help us win our statewide campaigns to win affordable housing, LGBTQ+ protections, and elect champions of these issues to office using our socials and occasionally, traditional organizing tactics. This full-time role is an opportunity to level up your digital organizing skills, grow as a communicator, and make a difference in the future of NH.

About New Hampshire Youth Movement 

New Hampshire Youth Movement is a movement of young people transforming our political system so it serves, and is led by, the people it’s left behind. We are an intersectional, grassroots organization building and leveraging youth power in and outside of electoral organizing across NH.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with the Political Director to build a social media strategy to grow our following on socials, increase engagement, and convert online followers to real-life members and leaders
  • Be in and create short-form video content 
  • Create graphics and social media content (photos and videos from our events)
  • Write captions for posts, basic scripts for short-form videos, and draft op-eds and newsletters
  • Assist in running our social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter) 
  • Lead and grow a team of volunteers moving digital/communications projects forward. Including new member recruitment, creating roles for members, and running team meetings
  • In key moments (no more than 10% of your time), be involved with organizing efforts. For example: get-out-the-vote efforts, direct actions, membership drives, support the development department with digital and relational fundraising, etc. 

Who you are

The ideal candidate is or has some combination of: 

  • Prior organizing experience through campaign, electoral, community organizing, or advocacy work 
  • Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or other graphic design programs
  • On camera experience or a willingness to learn, enthusiasm to be a face for and communicator of NHYM’s work
  • Strong commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice and their intersections, both inside and outside the organization
  • Experience with Google Drive 

Desired Skills, Attitudes, and Experiences 

It would be nice if you had: 

  • Experience using social media or digital tools to connect and organize people 
  • Experience building a social media strategy that optimizes growth & engagement 
  • Experience with Squarespace
  • Confidence in framing and messaging progressive issues to resonate with the public 

Compensation and Commitment 

This position is full-time, salaried at $50,000 for 40 hours/week on average and paid bi-weekly. NHYM offers health, dental, and vision insurance. Additional insurance benefits include life insurance and short & long-term disability insurance. Work-related expense reimbursement for mileage, and a phone/internet monthly stipend. Additionally, you receive 3 weeks of vacation time per year, 2 weeks of sick/personal time, and 17 organization-wide holidays.

This role starts between mid-February and the first week of March 2025. The ideal candidate lives in, or is willing to relocate to, New Hampshire. Work will be a hybrid of remote work and in-person organizing, but living in NH is a requirement.
