About Us.
Our movement started on college campuses across New Hampshire in 2016, to fill a need for student organizing. Since then we’ve reached hundreds of thousands of students and first time voters, and helped thousands of new voters get registered, through our field, mail, and social media outreach. Because of our organizing, the student turnout has increased even as overall enrollment declines.
The work doesn’t stop there. We provide continual support like free shuttles from campuses to polling centers, organizing visibility actions around vital policy issues, and being constant advocates at the state house for our most vulnerable communities.
In addition to these statewide campaigns, we support young people to make change on the things that matter most to them. In the past we have coached young people to protect funding for their schools, get better mental health resources, fight climate change, protect abortion, legalize cannabis, and more.
We fight year round for the things that young people care about - at schools and college campuses, at the local level, and at the state house.
You’ll find us in the state house testifying against laws designed to hurt our communities, supporting bills that strengthen us, holding protests, educating our friends and peers about local issues, and holding elected officials accountable for the decisions they make.
Issue Advocacy
-
New Hampshire is in a housing crisis and we are feeling the squeeze. We are fighting to build more housing, especially affordable housing, and to expand the rights of tenants. In 2024 we worked to pass a bill to lower the parking space minimums for apartments and laid the groundwork for policies that support homes near jobs, mixed use zoning, ADUs by right, and abolishing parking minimums statewide.
-
We want a state where every young person can live their life how they want to, and politicians shouldn't get involved in young people’s decisions about their gender or sexuality.
Every year we fight like hell to stop bills that would discriminate against trans people, put LGBTQ+ youth in danger, or censor educators. In addition to our organizing and advocacy, we also support LGBTQ+ youth dealing with the realities of being queer in a red state.
-
We fight back against voter suppression. We educate students on their rights, how they can vote and register, and help them vote by providing rides to the polls.
We also protect young people’s right in the courts. We are suing the state over HB 1569, which our state passed last year. This bill would require documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration — documents like a passport or birth certificate. This law creates enormous barriers to voting for voters who often don't have easy access to these documents.

Systematic change starts with us.
These principles are our agreement as a movement. It’s our job to hold every member and hub of NH youth movement to this set of principles.
01
We are a movement of young people transforming our political system so it serves, and is led by, the people it has left behind. We are fighting for this change in New Hampshire, and we are a part of a much larger movement to win this change around the country.
02
We are here to win. We stay grounded in achieving our goals; we use strategies and tactics that move us closer to them. We acknowledge that we may need to strategically support candidates who are imperfect. We make nimble, strategic decisions that fit the moment.
03
We grow together. We help each other grow into the best people and leaders we can be. We share our skills and knowledge, we are all students and teachers. We take initiative to step into leadership. We learn from our mistakes. As we grow, we practice empathy and vulnerability to keep us strong and connected.
04
We connect with our communities. We are active members of our towns and cities. We talk to our neighbors and bring them into our movement. We listen to what our communities need and provide assistance through campaigns and mutual aid.
05
We practice self-care and community care. We keep ourselves and each other well so our work is sustainable. We do our best work when we are our best selves. We care deeply for each other, our movement, and our communities.
06
We fight for the Liberation of all people. We collectively unlearn oppressive practices and confront the systems that divide us based on our ethnicities, the money in our pockets, where we live, who we love and who we are. We welcome all people from all paths of Life because we know our differences make us stronger.
07
We build power. We build people power by creating a moral crisis that polarizes the public around our issues and forces them to take a stand. We build political power by putting young, diverse, working people who share our vision into positions of power to pass policies that improve our communities' lives.
08
We share our stories and understand each other's stakes. We share the stories of our experiences that move us to do this work. We value that everyone has a different reason to fight. We strengthen our connection by understanding each other's stake.
09
We keep each other safe. We protect ourselves, each other, and our communities. We value safety in our decisions about strategy and tactics. There is power in numbers and we are stronger when everyone feels safe
We work hard, and inevitably there are difficult days, but we bring a spirit of joy and hope to our work. Making change is a fulfilling and joyful process. We celebrate boldly in the face of the oppressive systems we fight.

We know the next two years are going to be hard for the young people in NH
We will work to block as much destructive legislation as possible, with a special eye toward the things young people care about; abortion, lgbtq rights, public education, and more. Where we can, we will work toward incremental short term wins, such as affordable housing.
At the same time we will build our statewide membership so we can go into the next cycle with more people power to break barriers 2026.
Our mission to organize young people to transform our political system is stronger than ever, and we are determined to make our progressive vision a reality.
